Onsite Physical Therapy In Schools

From early intervention and preschool, through the high school years our skilled pediatric therapists evaluate and treat students in their own school environment allowing them the same educational opportunities as their peers. The therapist will collaborate with the student’s parents, teachers, and support staff to address their challenges on an individual basis. Currently Rehab Associates services schools in Licking, Knox, Fairfield and Muskingum counties.

Our School Therapists Make Dreams Happen

One of our local students who receives school based therapy, recently expressed that he would love to ride a bicycle. Through efforts of his school based therapy staff and collaboration with his school funding was arranged to purchase for him this adaptive tricycle. He is now able to ride with his friends in the community.

Physical Therapist Helping a Student in a Wheelchair

This past spring school based physical therapist Ashley Hindes and her assistant Lindsey Bollinger were able to assist one of their students in achieving a personal goal. Since the start of his senior year he had been hoping to gain enough strength and coordination to be able to walk across the stage at graduation instead of being pushed in his wheelchair. He worked hard in PT all year long. As graduation neared Ashley and Lindsey were able to coordinate with administration to work out the details and arrange several practice runs prior to the big day. Then on May 19, 2018 he was able to successfully walk up the ramp and across the stage where he was handed his high school diploma. Ashley and Lindsey were present on either end of the stage to make sure everything went smoothly. Afterwards they were able to capture this picture with diploma in hand!
