Stephanie Coutant has been working in the preventative
health and wellness field for 20 years; first as a social worker
and counselor, a fitness and dance instructor, and has now been
a student and teacher of yoga for eight years. She holds her Master's
degree in clinical social work and was certified with the American
Fitness Association of America for 12 years. Her Yoga teachers
include nationally renowned Rodney Yee and Beryl Bender-Birch
(official instructor of the New York Road Runners Club), Johnny
Kest of Chicago, locally known Martha Marcom, Linda Oshins, and
Marcia Miller of Yoga On High, and Mary Lou Weprin and Claudia
Cummings from Northern Ohio to name a "few".
She is currently enrolled in a Yoga Therapy training
program under the teachings of Janice George, MSW, RYT, PYT of
the Center for Wholeness in Clintonville. Upon completion in May,
she will be a nationally registered Yoga Instructor with the School
of Integrated Yoga Therapy. Her teachings are alignment based
in the tradition of BKS Iyengar and are appropriate and safe for
all ages and fitness levels. Originally from New York, she has
made Pickerington her home for herself and her husband and three
children for the past 7 years.
