 Rehab Associates provides specialized care for children with special needs and their families in a variety of settings including schools, outpatient clinics and home health. We are the only private practice in Licking County with therapists who specialize in pediatric care. In all settings, we collaborate with other professionals to provide the highest quality comprehensive care. Currently, Rehab Associates is working with schools in Knox, Licking and Muskingum counties. We are involved in Early Intervention for children zero to three, preschools and school-age programs. Our therapists consult with teachers and school staff to acquire equipment and make adaptations needed for each child to access their school as independently as possible. Each child has an individualized education plan with goals specifically established to help that child achieve the highest level of function and ability in the educational setting. Our Newark clinic provides therapy specializing in sensory integration techniques to allow your child to better understand and experience the world around them. In addition, pediatric care features therapy presented in a play context with progressive treatment programs to meet the changing needs of growth and development. Parent education is also an integral part of care. Our therapists see children for therapy in their natural home environment in conjunction with home health care agencies. Home assessments can be done and recommendations made for specific modifications and equipment to maximize function and safety for the child and caregiver. Our therapists can assist families in obtaining needed equipment by working with case managers, physicians, orthotists and equipment vendors. |
