Is a referral necessary before starting treatment?

A prescription from a physician is sometimes no longer necessary before beginning the evaluation and treatment process. Effective May 4, 2004, consumers in Ohio may seek physical therapist services without a physician referral. Appointments can be made by calling 740-345-2837 for our Newark location or 614-837-8227 for our Pickerington location.

Who can refer to physical therapy and occupational therapy?

We gladly accept referrals from the following sources:

• Medical Doctors - any medical doctor including orthopedic, physical medicine, cardiologist, neurologist, internal medicine, etc.
• Osteopathic physicians
• Chiropractors
• Nurse practitioners
• Dentists
• Oral surgeons
• Podiatrists
• Self referral
